The NSW Brain Banks promotes research into diseases that affect the brain and spinal cord. Our purpose is to provide a research resource facility for the collection, characterisation, storage and distribution of human brain and spinal cord tissue for research.
Find out more information about our annual meetings and other events which we hold each year. Annual meetings are used to showcase the research outcomes from tissue collected. They are also used to review and seek feedback of operations.
Brain donation is when a person and their family decide to donate their brain for medical research. It is a precious and enduring gift to research and is fundamental to advancing the understanding of diseases that affect the brain.
